Christmas Dinner Dance 2005
Date: Saturday 3rd December 2005
Venue:Acton Town Hall, Acton, London W3
A large number of members, family and friends attended our flagship event and helped
make it a great success. In fact ticket sales had to be restricted a few days before
the event in order not to exceed the Hall capacity. By all accounts a good time
was had by all and the Treasurer was very pleased too!
The President spoke briefly
about SCOT activities during the year. He drew particular attention to SCOT’s continuing
assistance to disadvantaged children in the NorthEast, and the Preschool Project
SCOT had decided to fund in Athikovilady in Northern Sri Lanka as part of its post-tsunami
rehabilitation programme. SCOT’s success over nearly 30 years has been mainly due
to the support and encouragement of its members. He inaugurated a fresh membership
drive to increase our membership particularly focusing on younger members.
